The opening chapter for this group started as taking an abandoned space and transforming it to a club. In this case, this space was a strip joint and brothel where the previous owner just basically picked up his stuff and left. Everything was left behind though ... the bedrooms, the poles and the neon floors. La Bolleur took what was left and made it their own.
Over the years the venue for these meetings changed, and whilst in Holland I never really got the opportunity to attend one of their parties, however, I did get the chance to check out their squatted farmhouse in the city center of Eindhoven having casual drinks.
What I love about their story was the brand they created, the processes throughout, the transformations within and the direction they took to communicate their brand to build recognition ... to the point of winning an award.
